What’s up with the Cross?

Much like the Apostle Paul, we are not ashamed of the cross. Calvary is a company that was founded by Christians and endeavors to continue in that ministry. We have been repeatedly told by consultants, marketing people, acquaintances, and even by our friends that having the cross in our logo, not to mention a directly Christian name like Calvary, will be counter-productive to our business goals and actually deter potential clients. For almost three years now we have battled against this idea, and we will continue to do so.

Are there people who will not trust us because we are a Christian company with a cross in our logo? Perhaps. But, will many other people migrate toward us simply because of these symbols? Maybe so. At the end of the day, however, it is not our goal to use the Gospel for profit, but rather to stand behind our beliefs and faith in Jesus Christ. If this offends you, we do not apologize, but offer that we probably are not the right company for you. We oftentimes take prayer requests from our clients, help them with other non-credit related issues, and strive to be Christ-like in all that we do. Does that mean that every employee of our company is a Christian? To be honest, we do not know, as we are not permitted to ask, but we do know that everyone employed by us will conduct themselves in an ethical and moral manner.

Too many Christian companies have a bad name out there and use the Gospel as a marketing ploy, and while we are only one small company in a sea of this mess, we are doing what we can and consider Calvary an active part of our ministry.
